The Dossier
What to know about Ajmal Perfumes.
Ajmal traces its founding to 1951, when Haji Ajmal Ali began trading oud from the Assam jungle in northeast India. The company moved its headquarters to Dubai in the 1970s and is today one of the most vertically integrated perfume houses in the world — owning agarwood plantations in Assam, distilleries, attar workshops, and over 240 boutiques across the Gulf and Asia.
The catalogue runs the full traditional-to-modern spectrum: aged single-origin oud oils, classical mukhallats and bakhoor on one side; modern EDPs like Aristocrat, Wisal and Dahn Al Oud Shams on the other. The Dahn Al Oud range, in particular, remains a reference for connoisseurs of pure agarwood distillation.
Historical note
Began as an Assam oud trading house in 1951; relocated headquarters to Dubai in the 1970s; today owns plantations, distilleries and a 240+ boutique network across the Gulf and Asia.
