The Dossier
What to know about Xerjoff.
Xerjoff was founded in Turin in 2003 by Sergio Momo with an explicit collector's mandate: source raw materials that no other house could afford or be bothered with — pre-ban Mysore sandalwood, natural Siberian ambergris, vintage iris butter — and bottle them in flacons hand-finished with Murano glass and Italian goldwork.
The catalogue is split into 'Shooting Stars', 'Oud Stars', 'Casamorati' (a tribute to 1888 Bologna perfumery), 'XJ' and 'Naxos' lines. Naxos itself — honey, tobacco, lavender — has become one of the most-recognised niche compositions of the late 2010s.
