This unique upbringing instilled in him a perspective he often describes as 'Iranian in education and German in organisation,' a philosophy evident in his meticulous yet creatively expansive approach to perfumery. His journey at Firmenich, where he serves as a Principal Perfumer, is distinguished by a commitment to teamwork and the exchange of expertise, aligning with the company's client-centric ethos.

Merati-Kashani's work is deeply informed by the rich and intricate fragrance traditions of the Middle East, a region where he has forged significant partnerships with esteemed luxury marques. He is particularly recognised for crafting compositions that exude refinement and a luxurious allure. Among his notable creations are the acclaimed Layton, Pegasus, and Percival, fragrances that showcase his talent for producing memorable and sophisticated olfactory statements.
