Jean-Louis Sieuzac is a highly respected perfumer known for his contributions to the world of contemporary perfumery. He began his career in the fragrance industry with the Roure company, now known as Givaudan. During his time at Roure, he worked with some of the greatest perfumers in the industry and developed several iconic fragrances. In 1976, he created Kouros for Yves Saint Laurent, a fragrance that stirred controversy due to its strong, animalistic notes, yet has remained a cult classic. Sieuzac has crafted fragrances for luxury brands such as Hermès, Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent, and partnered with notable brands like Shiseido and Oscar de la Renta. In 1998, he joined Florasynth, which later became Symrise. He is known for his humility and believes that a fragrance should be judged solely on its olfactory qualities.
