Meabh McCurtin

An Irish native, Meabh McCurtin initially pursued studies in biochemistry at the National University of Ireland in Galway, followed by further academic work at the École Normale Supérieure in Lyon. Her scientific background provided a foundation for her eventual pivot to the world of scent. Her journey into perfumery involved periods of study and work in key fragrance hubs, culminating in New York, where she benefited from mentorship by the celebrated perfumer Dominique Ropion at International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF).

McCurtin's career reflects a blend of artistic collaboration and commercial success. She contributed to the creation of the scent 'Eau d’Amsterdam' through a unique artistic partnership. Her work with Cloon Keen led to several notable fragrances, including 'Róisín Dubh,' which received industry recognition in 2019. She continues to develop distinctive fragrances as a perfumer at IFF, her work often characterised by a fresh, contemporary sensibility.
