Born in Cannes, France, Richard Herpin's initial fascination with aroma was cultivated within his father's antique establishment. This early exposure to a myriad of scents laid the groundwork for his future vocation. His formal entry into perfumery was significantly shaped by the mentorship of family acquaintance Pierre Bourdon, a figure of considerable esteem in the industry, under whom Herpin refined his olfactory sensibilities and artistic approach.

03 · Practice

Throughout a career spanning over two decades, Herpin has lent his expertise to designing fragrances for a diverse portfolio of luxury brands including Amouage, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Tom Ford. His signature style is often characterised by harmonious compositions that reflect varied musical genres and aim to encapsulate specific emotional experiences. He also co-founded Precious Liquid, a brand conceived to offer distinctive luxury fragrances that champions personal expression.
